The primary stage of production refers to the harvesting, extraction, or collection of raw materials. This includes agricultural harvesting (such as cotton, botanicals, or food crops), animal husbandry, the extraction and refining of crude oil for synthetic materials, and the mining of minerals, metals, and gems.
The secondary stage of production covers the processing and transformation of raw materials into usable inputs. Examples include textile manufacturing, chemical processing of ingredients for cosmetics or pharmaceuticals, and the production of packaging materials or components.
The final stage of production involves the assembly or completion of the end product. This may refer to manufacturing facilities responsible for assembling finished goods, the blending and filling of finished products (such as skincare or food products), or, in the case of service-based or retail businesses without their own supply chain, the sourcing and curation of finished goods from third-party suppliers.
